Patient Care Tech - Neuro ICU, PT, Nights

Job Summary This role assists with patient care in a neuro ICU setting, including patient assistance, clinical procedures, phlebotomy, and transportation.
Responsibilities
Assist in meeting patient needs for all age groups in areas of comfort, activities of daily living, clinical procedures, transportation and safety needs, and obtaining blood samples according to established procedures and protocols.
Communicate with team members timely about observations of the patient's progress, needs, and problems.
Maintain established departmental/hospital policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, patient safety, and infection control.
Work as a member of a unit-based, multidisciplinary patient care team.
Embrace shared governance nursing organizational principles by staying informed of nursing council activities.
Accountability monitored through direct observations and achievement of team service goals including satisfaction, quality, and financial outcomes.
Provide nursing care in an environment that embraces maximum participation by staff.
Demonstrate population-specific competencies (e.g., age-specific, cultural sensitivity, patient-centered communication).
Qualifications Education
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – Required
Related post-high school education (Examples: Unit Clerk, Medical Secretary, etc. or related coursework) – Preferred
Work Experience
1 year full-time experience performing phlebotomy functions at Phlebotomy I or II level or phlebotomy competence or certification. Also considered allied health experience requiring phlebotomy skills such as LPHI or II, Paramedic, EMT, or Certified Medical Assistant. Experience with public demonstrating excellent customer service skills – Required
1 year experience in direct care or lab – Preferred
Direct patient care experience such as Nursing Assistant, Dietetics Representative, Physical Therapy Aide, Phlebotist, EKG Technician, etc. – Required
Additional Licenses and Certifications
BLS – Required
CNA or Phlebotomy certification – Preferred
