Position Information Position Title: Visiting Assistant Professor – Neuroscience

The Neuroscience Program at Hope College seeks applicants for a one‑year visiting assistant professor position, beginning in Fall 2026. Primary teaching responsibilities include Introduction to Neuroscience (and associated labs), Functional Neuroanatomy (and associated labs), with the possibility of an additional course in the applicant’s area of specialty. The expected teaching load is four lecture or laboratory courses per semester.

Program Overview The Neuroscience Program is interdisciplinary, drawing perspectives from biology, chemistry, engineering, mathematics, nursing, philosophy, and psychology. Students receive in‑depth training across the cellular/molecular, systems, and behavioral/cognitive levels of neuroscience. The program has four tenured or tenure‑track faculty and one non‑tenure‑track teaching faculty.

Qualifications

Minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant field of academic study related to neuroscience courses.

Physical Demands The position requires frequent sitting or standing, use of computers, printers, and copy machines, occasional moving of items over 10 pounds, and frequent movement between offices or buildings.
