Lab Technician – Contract
Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc. (SGA, Inc.) is searching for a Lab Technician for a contract assignment with a premier Pharmaceutical client in South San Francisco, CA.
Pay Base pay range: $20.83/hr – $25.83/hr (Actual pay based on skills and experience).
Responsibilities
Conduct daily operational maintenance of lab equipment, including incubators, water baths, biosafety cabinets, centrifuges, and cold storage units
Coordinate routine and preventative equipment maintenance with vendors
Troubleshoot immediate lab issues such as freezer leaks, equipment malfunctions, or contamination
Perform daily lab inspections to ensure a safe work environment and report violations
Monitor, assist in collection, and ensure safe disposal of hazardous biological and chemical materials
Collect, wash, autoclave, and redistribute lab glassware
Replenish lab supplies including glassware, plasticware, PPE, and disinfectants throughout the facility
Perform support activities such as inventory checks, ordering, and distribution
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with 6+ months lab experience, OR high school diploma/GED with 1+ years of lab experience (equivalent combination considered)
Basic laboratory experience and working knowledge of scientific equipment
Familiar with EH&S regulations and hazardous waste handling
Strong problem‑solving skills to identify issues and offer solutions
Detail‑oriented and self‑motivated with a positive attitude
Ability to work effectively in a team environment with excellent verbal communication
Physically capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds
Willing to accept temporary responsibilities outside initial job description
Weekend support might be required (On Call)
Preferred Skills
DOT and Hazardous Waste Management certifications
Ability to travel between locations (approximately 2 miles)
