Compensation: Annual Salary Range

Master’s Degree: $43,079.00 (2 years’ experience) to $59,191.00 (25 years’ experience)

Bachelor’s Degree: $41,689.00 (2 years’ experience) to $57,269.00 (25 years’ experience)

Basic Purpose Position provides early intervention for children who are deaf and hard of hearing, ages birth to five and their families across the State of Oklahoma. Maintains contact/home visits working toward positive outcomes. Plans/implements home visits and other interactions designed to address IFSP outcomes for children and families within their natural routines. Video conferencing may be utilized to provide services per program guidelines. Engage family and child in ongoing assessment and evaluation in order to appropriately address next steps. Participate as a member of a team during evaluation/assessment. Ensures early intervention services and documentation is in compliance with state and federal laws and mandates. Organize/lead family engagement events and educational opportunities for families and children. Collaborate within community programs and resources to support families and children. Work in partnership with OSD’s Early Childhood Education Centers/Teachers on goals for children jointly enrolled ECEC and FEELS. Plan/implement training/mentoring for parent advisors, community partners, and educational partners on core competencies related to working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Organize/lead parent/infant/toddler classes at OSD Early Childhood Education Centers or other locations determined by department. Establishes IFSPs and attending IEPs as requested and oversee transition from IDEA Part C to Part B. Attend workshops, conferences, presentations, and other training opportunities as required by the program.

Applicant must be willing to perform all job-related travel. Trial period (if applicable) is required.

Typical Functions Education And Experience

Master’s Degree with concentration in Deaf Education, Early Intervention/Early Childhood, or Speech Language Pathology or similar field; or Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education or in a related field and 2 years of experience in providing home-based intervention to children who are deaf and hard of hearing. Current certification in deaf education is required.

Special Requirements

Position is located at Oklahoma School for the Deaf (OSD) in Sulphur.

Preferred Qualifications: American Sign Language Skills.

Background Check: The Department of Rehabilitation Services will conduct a criminal background check on new hires as part of an offer of employment that is made contingent upon a successful criminal background check.
