Position Overview As a physician lead for JeffExpress Urgent Care locations in Northeastern Pennsylvania, you'll provide high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting clinical excellence and team development across multiple sites. Each physician lead oversees a defined node of urgent care centers, combining hands‑on patient care with clinical leadership across the region.

You’ll join a growing Jefferson Health urgent care network serving communities throughout eastern Pennsylvania, an opportunity to shape care delivery and support APC development in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the physician lead for a designated node/center, supporting clinical excellence, provider development and consistent standards of care.
Provide direct clinical care within the node, with a focus on high-volume sites and identified areas of operational or clinical need.
Maintain flexibility to provide in‑person clinical support at any site within the node, with occasional deployment outside the assigned node in coordination with system leadership based on organizational needs.
Participate in a shared call rotation to provide backup clinical coverage in the event of unscheduled callouts.
Partner with clinical leads with onboarding and clinical education for new physician assistants (PAs) and nurse practitioners (NPs), including training in urgent care procedures, EMR documentation, and visit flow efficiency.
Meet all federal, state and Jefferson clinical, quality and regulatory requirements for supervision of advanced practice providers and staff.
Deliver elbow‑to‑elbow mentorship with APCs, focusing on developing clinical confidence, refining practice style and strengthening patient‑centered communication.
Collaborate with APCs to reinforce evidence‑based best practices, including appropriate imaging, antibiotic stewardship, follow‑up protocols and documentation integrity.
Actively participate in the Urgent Care Quality Assurance process, including:
Peer review of clinical charts and outcomes
Participating in clinical quality operations committee
Identification and follow‑up of clinical outliers, trends or concerns
Facilitation of closed‑loop communication and coaching for providers
Collaboration with clinical leadership on system‑level improvements
Championing patient safety, care standardization and regulatory compliance
Other duties as assigned.

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
