Now Hiring PRN Licensed Recreational Therapists! Position Summary: This position is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the activities of the facility to ensure appropriate recreation, leisure, and social services are provided to each resident.

Key Responsibilities

Completes initial recreation assessment for each resident and revises assessment after six months of service at North Spring.

Facilitates group activities twice a week that are gender‑specific for each unit.

Approves monthly activity calendars, posts them on each unit, and makes changes and suggestions for unit‑specific activities.

Fulfills responsibilities in adherence to the facility’s philosophy, policies, and procedures.

Prepares facility‑wide activity calendars with a minimum of four facility‑wide activities each month.

Follows documentation requirements to meet standards for the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, Virginia Medicaid Services, TRICARE, and the Joint Commission.

Performs other duties as assigned based on the need of the facility.

Location Beautiful Leesburg, Virginia – 40 miles northwest of Washington, D.C. The campus spans 45 acres and includes a gymnasium, outdoor recreation area, and high‑ropes course. The surrounding area offers excellent public schools.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Must hold a CTRS certification.

Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

At least two years of related experience with children and adolescents.

Preferred experience includes knowledge of VA DD Waiver programs.
