Phlebotomist II - Dacula
Job Description The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist with various assigned duties, troubleshoot issues, provide training, and make workflow recommendations. This position involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and updating patient information at a medium‑sized office located in Dacula, GA.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles, ensuring proper technique.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection methods in a clear and courteous manner.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required.
Ensure all test requisitions or labels are checked against scripts for accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store them at required temperatures.
Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and provide laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
Essential Skills
Minimum 2+ years of recent experience as a Phlebotomist.
Proficiency with blood draws from adult to geriatric patients.
Strong skills in straight needle venipuncture.
High School Diploma or GED.
Excellent customer service skills.
Specimen collection and processing experience; drug screening experience.
Work comfortably in a male communal environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Phlebotomy certification is a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting.
Work Environment This position is located within a male residential facility, and the phlebotomist will provide services in areas where residents may require support in private or sensitive situations. The office manages over 30 patients a day, ranging from adults to geriatric. Training will be provided at a different location. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend shifts.
Job Type & Location Contract to Hire, Dacula, GA.
Pay & Benefits Pay range: $18.00 – $22.00/hr.
