Physical Therapist Assistant at Focused Post Acute Care Partners (FPACP) at Huntsville, TX. Salary range is undisclosed. This position works under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist and follows established treatment plans to provide physical therapy care to patients, helping them regain mobility, strength, and reduce pain. Responsibilities

Assists the Physical Therapist in the development and implementation of individual patient physical therapy care plans; performs daily physical therapy assignments to accomplish patient therapy plans and treatment goals. Responsible for the daily care of assigned patients. Guides patients through prescribed exercise programs, including passive, assistive, and resistive exercise routines designed to develop or enhance strength, muscle tone, and range of motion. Applies heat, light, water, and electrically based treatments/modalities (e.g., ultrasound, infrared lamp, muscle stimulation, traction, hot and cold packs, paraffin baths, whirlpool, diathermy) to stimulate muscle/nerve function and/or for pain management, as prescribed, with proven competency and available equipment. Assists patients in gait training (e.g., parallel bars, walkers, crutches, canes, braces) to improve ambulatory skills. Performs other therapeutic activities such as massage and body mechanics instruction. Observes patient condition during treatment and notes any significant change in patient condition. Seeks assistance from Physical Therapist when appropriate. Records patient response to treatment and overall progress in patient charts. Refers patients to Physical Therapist for reevaluation as necessary. Prepares patient referrals as requested by Physical Therapist. Communicates on a regular basis with the Physical Therapist regarding individual program design, implementation, and progress status. Participates in Physical Therapy Assistants’ meetings conducted by the Physical Therapist. Advises professional team members of patient progress and perceived effectiveness of treatments; may suggest revision of treatment plan to better meet patient needs and capabilities. Acts as a resource to staff concerning physical therapy programs. Provides training to staff on the utilization of adaptive equipment necessary in the treatment of individuals, as well as the implementation and rationale of treatment plans. Cleans and maintains treatment areas by cleaning and changing mats, linen, and refilling equipment. Follows sterile procedures and guidelines and ensures that all equipment is working properly and reports needed repairs to supervisor. Assists in scheduling patients, preparing daily schedules, and maintaining daily census of physical therapy patients. Promotes a safe and efficient working environment by adhering to Focused Care policies and procedures. Demonstrates a clear understanding of the Mission, Purpose and Philosophy. Observes infection control and standard precautions. Performs related duties as required. Qualifications

Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. Current license/registration as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of hire. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform one‑person transfers. Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Physical Demands

Able to lift up to 50 pounds, perform one‑person transfer under routine and emergency situations, reposition a bedbound patient alone and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities. May be exposed to unsanitary conditions in some facility or home settings. May be exposed to high crime areas within the service community. Work Environment
