Biology Instructor, Part-time Adjunct Pool – ESCC
Position: Biology Instructor (part-time adjunct pool). Location: Bishop/Mammoth, CA. Salary: $67.00/hour. Job type: Part-time, hourly faculty pool.
Responsibilities
Provide instruction in a full range of Biological Science courses, at multiple campus sites, day/evening classes, weekend classes, large classes, distance learning.
Utilize collegial participation in departmental, college, discipline-specific professional activities.
Participate in student recruitment, articulation of transfer programs and maintain subject matter currency.
Develop and revise curriculum, use computer and multimedia technology.
Use multiple teaching methodologies and assist students with a wide range of skills, motivations and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's in any biological science; or Bachelor's in any biological science and Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics or marine science; or possession of a valid credential authorizing full-time teaching of Biology at the California Community College level; or equivalent.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Accredited degrees and credits from Title V Section 53406 institutions.
Knowledge & Abilities
Work effectively with colleagues in an environment promoting innovation, teaching, learning and service to diverse student population.
Work effectively with students with a wide range of skills, motivations and goals.
Develop curriculum, including curriculum delivered via different modalities.
Participate in recruitment and articulation activities with local schools, colleges and universities.
Communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Maintain subject matter currency.
Assess student learning outcomes.
Knowledge of computers and willingness to explore new technologies beneficial to program.
Commitment to the California community college mission.
