Shift:
6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Saturdays – Sundays, Thursdays – Fridays, Tuesdays – Saturdays. Position Summary and Job Duties:
Provide nursing care, leadership, and clinical supervision of the health care team, including licensed practical nurses, medication assistants, and certified nursing assistants. Coordinate interdisciplinary care and supervise direct patient care activities.
Key Responsibilities
Administer medications via oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, nasal, eye, ear, vaginal, rectal, inhaler or nebulizer routes; observe effects; report adverse reactions to RN Supervisor, Nurse Manager, DON, ADON or MD; ensure compliance with state and federal medication guidelines.
Administer IV therapy, piggyback medications, heparin and saline flushes; complete blood draws.
Administer PRN medications as indicated.
Perform treatments: dressing changes, tracheostomy care, skin tear protocol, catheter care, colostomy care, blood sugar checks, G or J tube care, peritoneal dialysis, oxygen administration, suctioning, nebulizer use.
Provide emergency care, including CPR.
Perform EKGs and bladder scans.
Document medication administration, treatments, progress notes, and maintain accurate electronic health records.
Report changes of condition to nursing supervisor, nurse manager, and physician; assure continuity of care during shift reports.
Provide health teaching to residents and families; counsel and advise as needed.
Participate in unit leadership, code blue and red alert response; maintain a safe environment for residents, staff, families, and visitors.
Assist with resident dining when required.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse with current Wisconsin licensure in good standing.
CPR certification or completed CPR updates.
Long‑term care experience preferred.
Ability to handle occasional patient lifts up to 50 pounds and work in a stressful environment.
Effective communication skills, teamwork, problem‑solving, and professionalism.
Compensation and Benefits New hire bonus: $2,000 distributed over the first year.
