Prepare cost transfer entries for components on a monthly basis Set up all projects for component in Deltek Costpoint Participate in monthly consolidated close, including extended work hours during close to meet deadlines Prepare journal entries in accordance with GAAP Prepare financial statements and related analyses for component Respond to inquiries regarding activity within the component Prepare account reconsiliations for related accounts and resolve any discrepancies Execute internal controls to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, AFS policies, and Federal cost compliance rules Support internal and external audits Participate in special projects and initatives, as needed Participate in opportunities to continuously improve training, methodologies, tools and skills Here’s What You Need
Bachelors degree (Accounting or Finance preferred) Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience Strong project management skills - able to work on multiple projects concurrently Proficient with common PC software applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) Must be a U.S. citizen Bonus Points If You Have
Strong professional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with employees at all levels Government contracting industry experience Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Experience with Deltek Costpoint Compensation
