Patient Care Representative
US Eye is a physician-led, patient‑centric network of eye care practices committed to delivering exceptional patient service through premium technology and unrivaled provider expertise. Patient Care Representatives serve as the first and last point of contact for patients, creating a friendly, professional environment that enhances the overall experience. Politeness, attentiveness, and organization are essential to this role.
Essential Job Functions
Greet and direct all patients, visitors, and staff upon entry. Monitor reception areas and provide assistance as needed.
Provide a pleasant and prompt check‑in experience by verifying information and answering questions about questionnaires and forms.
Print daily team/physician schedules and confirm the appointment schedule for the day.
Attend to walk‑in patients, scheduling inquiries, and prescription/record pick‑up.
Disseminate pertinent information using telephone systems and/or computer software systems.
Cross‑check and update next‑day charts.
Maintain an orderly and pleasing workspace that ensures integrity and safety for patients and staff.
Complete appointment confirmation calls based on the patient schedule.
Collect necessary co‑payments, non‑covered service fees, and/or existing account balances during check‑out.
Fill out essential reports and forms as requested.
Carry out additional administrative responsibilities as needed.
Competencies
Demonstrated knowledge of material, methods, instruments, and equipment.
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Demonstrated ability to multi‑task, work in a fast‑paced environment, and manage time to meet deadlines and requirements.
Education and Experience
High school diploma required.
Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Prior experience in a customer service role.
Must be able to work under pressure and respond to patient requests positively.
Associate’s degree preferred.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
