Howmet Aerospace Position: Production Planner Location: Plant 5, Ti-Cast Operation, Whitehall, MI Responsibilities
Communicate with regular and prospective customers concerning requirements; respond to inquiries regarding status of key projects and open orders. Perform checks and audits of scheduling rules while coordinating with other departments to align with plant On Time Delivery targets. Track open items and secure purchase order coverage; resolve contractual issues delaying input or shipment of customer requirements. Process orders for the assigned account portfolio, including order entry/maintenance, placement for outplant vendors, review, acknowledgment to the customer, and resolution of items delaying release to manufacturing or shipments. Coordinate with the Master Scheduler to plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times. Consult with department supervisors to determine status of assigned projects. Expedite operations that delay schedules and alter schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Perform daily reconciliation of shipments. Work closely with planning, manufacturing and sales teams to achieve customer satisfaction. Maintain visibility of overdue jobs, analyze and develop recovery schedules. Serve as liaison with plant vendors on product flow; advise them on priorities and communicate with internal teams on performance to plan and maintain PO coverage. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with 2 years of experience in production planning/scheduling OR 1+ internships/development rotations in supply chain/production planning in a manufacturing environment OR Associate's degree plus 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with production planning/scheduling responsibilities OR 8 years of experience in production planning/scheduling in a manufacturing environment. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Preferred Qualifications
APICS Certification Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects. Competent use of automated order system. Solid base knowledge of manufacturing process and material flow. Strong quantitative analysis skills, including use of Microsoft Excel. Ability to develop and use planning strategies. Seniority Level
