Beacon Communications . The Voice/Data Installer is responsible for accurately performing installation tasks and assisting with system setup, testing, and commissioning structured cabling solutions between the St Cloud and Minneapolis area. This mid-level role will lead all levels of cabling jobs, lead entry level installers and journeyman installers while working with project managers to execute work in alignment with project requirements, engineered drawings, and company standards. The Voice/Data Installer demonstrates professionalism, leadership, safety awareness, and growing technical competency while working toward mastery of structured cabling installation and troubleshooting.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform installation tasks independently as directed by the Project Manager.
Interpret engineered drawings to ensure accurate installation and cabling.
Manage the jobsite for security of all tools, equipment, and materials.
Support headend fabrication and wiring under guidance.
Assist with wiring, labeling, grounding, and system structure.
Follow scope of work, schedule, and jobsite material management requirements.
Identify, procure, and manage parts and part numbers from the warehouse.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of cable types, signal flow, and device installation.
Apply basic troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve installation issues.
Safely and efficiently use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment.
Read and interpret construction and engineered drawings.
Possess basic troubleshooting, networking, and system understanding.
Work independently, meet deadlines, and manage priorities.
Maintain safe and organized worksites, securing all equipment properly.
Participate in jobsite safety meetings and toolbox talks.
Consistently maintain punctuality and reliability.
Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and project leadership.
Accurately complete timesheets and required reporting.
Demonstrate professionalism in daily interactions with colleagues and clients.
Accurately manage and submit documentation related to work performed.
Travel overnight as required.

Education, License and Experience
High School Diploma or approved equivalent.
Maintain a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements
Requires sitting, prolonged standing, walking, handling, gripping, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead with force.
Requires stooping, crouching, crawling, and working on or under floors.
Ability to transport ladders up to 12 feet in height and lift ladders off vehicle roof racks.
Willing and able to climb and stand on ladders and scaffolding.
Frequently lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including overhead.
Maintain a clear background check to satisfy customer jobsite badging requirements.
Travel Requirements
20-50% travel in upper Midwest Region, as needed.
