Job Description
At Soar Autism Center,
we are dedicated to enhancing the lives of young children on the autism spectrum. As we continue to innovate and build a better model of care for kids, the role of the
Youth Learning Assistant (also called a Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician)
plays a key part in helping children learn and grow every day.
Our approach draws from the
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) , a fun, play-based form of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. By joining our team, you’ll use play, creativity, and compassion to support children’s developmental progress and help them reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one play-based learning sessions to children aged 2–6 in our clinic setting
Implement individualized therapy plans designed by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) using evidence-based principles from ABA
Use play, positive reinforcement, and daily routines to help children build communication, social, and learning skills
Partner closely with families, sharing updates and celebrating each child’s growth
Participate in ongoing training and supervision to earn and maintain RBT certification
Qualifications
High school diploma, or equivalent, is required. Strong preference for candidates enrolled in or who have completed a degree program (bonus for majors in Child Development, Psychology, Education, or related fields)
Enjoyment and experience working with children. This can be through child care, teaching, coaching, or volunteer work
Ability to achieve and maintain
RBT certification
within the first 6 weeks of employment ( Soar provides paid training )
RBT certification required for our Colorado Springs location
Reliable transportation to training and center locations; punctuality is essential
Physical ability to sit or kneel on the floor, lift up to 50 lbs., and move quickly to support a child’s needs
Comfort using computers and tablets for session documentation
Team-oriented mindset and willingness to learn and grow
What We Offer
