Salary Range : $33.65 - $40.86 Hourly
The Senior Staff Accountant will support daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and private funding requirements. This role is responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, budgeting support, audits, and grant reporting. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience working with audits and funded programs.
Responsibilities
Conduct daily accounting activities across all functional areas, including Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable (A/R), Payroll (P/R), and General Ledger (G/L).
Review and process Accounts Payable, including expense coding, data entry into accounting systems, report preparation, and check processing.
Prepare monthly billing invoices and fiscal reports for funding agencies.
Maintain the General Ledger, including bank reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and data input.
Process payroll and assist with related journal entries and reconciliations.
Assist with account analysis, financial reports, and preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
Assist with the development, monitoring, and revision of organizational budgets.
Develop and maintain accounting procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and private contract and grant requirements.
Prepare annual program cost reports for Controller review and submit finalized reports to county agencies.
Review third-party subcontractor monthly billing invoices for accuracy; request corrections and missing documentation as needed.
Coordinate with external auditors to complete annual financial audits and program-specific audits.

$2,000 Recruitment Bonus: Therecruitmentbonusof $2,000 will be paid in two lump sums: the first sum of $1,000 will be paid on the next regularly scheduled pay date after successful completion of 90 days of employment. Qualifications Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of
2 years’ hands-on finance and/or accounting experience , preferably with non-profit organizations.
Familiarity with computerized accounting systems;
Blackbaud experience a plus .
Flexible work habits with the ability to shift priorities quickly and work extended hours when needed.
Must have experience with Microsoft Office products;
strong Excel skills required .
Payroll system experience strongly preferred.
Experience working with government contracts and grants preferred.
Familiarity with cost reporting and funding agency requirements preferred.
CPA or CPA-track a plus.
