About Us River Road Veterinary Hospital is a small two‑doctor practice that opened in 2011 to serve the Andover, Massachusetts area. We have continued to provide excellent patient care and client support by treating all who enter through our doors as family. With a heavy emphasis on Fear Free medicine and a flexible appointment schedule, we strive to accommodate the various needs of our patients and clients.
Job Summary We are looking to add a full‑time Veterinary Technician to our amazing team. We prioritize exceptional animal care and client satisfaction while also providing a supportive clinic environment with an emphasis on learning. If you are compassionate, have a strong passion for animal welfare, and want to provide top‑notch care for your patients, then we would love for you to join our team.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians in all aspects of patient care including dental and surgical procedures
Able to accurately perform cytologic exams and radiographic studies
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed
Proficient in venipuncture (phlebotomy and IV catheter placement)
Safely perform the induction, monitoring, and recovery of surgical patients
Educate clients on animal care, wellness, and preventative care
Maintain medical records with accuracy and professionalism
Qualifications
Licensed Veterinary Technicians are preferred, but unlicensed Veterinary Technicians and students graduating soon from an AVMA accredited school are encouraged to apply
Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication/customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
Self‑motivated with a strong work ethic
Ability to handle animals with care and compassion
Fear Free certification a plus but not required
