Job Summary
12-18 month contract role for a Molecular Biologist at NetSource, Inc. in Austin, TX.
Job Requirements
BS/BA degree in biological science or related field and two (2) to four (4) years of previous experience in chemistry, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry.
Hands on working knowledge of standard laboratory techniques of molecular biology, including plasmid purifications, PCR and QPCR.
Experience with NGS or microarray testing is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication, organization, and computer skills (especially Microsoft tools, including Excel).
Job Duties
Perform plasmid and DNA purifications and perform DNA quantification using nanodrop spectrophotometer.
Manufacture and test complex master mixes and bulks used in RT-PCR and QPCR kits.
Manufacture and test microarray reagents used in genomic DNA labeling kits and hybridization kits.
Analyze quantitative data and report results accurately.
Actively assist in the execution of manufacturing process validations for new processes, products, and regulatory level validations.
Actively assist with the introduction of new products and the exploration of new technologies for the improvement of product quality.
Assist other teams in the production and testing of products as required and other duties as assigned.
Maintain stocks of raw materials required for manufacturing and quality control testing.
Maintain a work environment based on 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Other duties include the writing, maintenance and reviewing of ISO-compliant Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
