PRN Physical Therapist – Kindred Hospital Acute Rehab Unit

As a PRN Physical Therapist at Kindred Hospital Houston Northwest Acute Rehab Unit (ARU), you will play a vital role in helping patients recover from serious medical conditions and injuries. How You'll Contribute

Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Provide educational information to patients regarding injury prevention, ergonomics, restorative therapy, and rehabilitation therapy. Supervise physical therapy assistants and aides in performing treatment. Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient’s condition. Establish a plan of care appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires. Plan, prepare and carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients. Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the age and condition of the patient. Direct and supervise physical therapy assistants, students, and other support personnel. Assess competence, delegate specific tasks, and establish channels of communication. Administer treatment involving application of physical agents, using equipment, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modifications. Identify and document goals, anticipated progress and plans for reevaluation. Qualifications and Requirements

Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. Physical Therapist license in state. Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of hire. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. EEO Statement
