Job Summary Sunbelt Rentals strives to be the customer’s first choice in the equipment rental industry. This Technician – Level 3 role involves performing preventive maintenance, advanced diagnostics, and complex repairs on a fleet that includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools, large‑scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas equipment. The position supports a safety‑focused environment and helps ensure minimal downtime.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections on diverse equipment.
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and execute advanced repairs.
Work independently or as part of a team in fast‑paced, safety‑focused settings.
Adapt to changing priorities and maintain effective communication with crew.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired.
5+ years of technician experience with diesel or heavy equipment, or specialty lines equipment (generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas).
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Ability to work in shifting conditions; handle lifting up to 50 lbs and perform bending, squatting, crouching, and reaching.
Tools of the trade may need to be provided.
Physical Demands The role requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors and outdoors as required.

Compensation Base pay range: $26.46 – $36.37 per hour; mechanics bringing tools to the position may be paid $32.00 – $39.00 per hour.
