Behavioral Health Care Manager I – Ameriben
Location: Work virtually full‑time with required in‑person training sessions. Hybrid policy applies; candidates must be within commuting distance unless accommodation is granted.
Hours: 8 am – 5 pm (Local time).
Minimum Requirements
MA/MS in social work counseling or a related behavioral health field or a nursing degree, plus minimum 3 years experience with facility‑based and/or outpatient psychiatric and substance abuse treatment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Current active unrestricted license (RN, LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LPC, LBA, LMFT, Clinical Psychologist, or BCBA if applicable). Licensure required for this position.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experience
Previous experience in case management/utilization management with complex psychiatric/substance abuse cases.
Job Responsibilities
Uses appropriate screening criteria and clinical judgment to assess member needs to ensure access to medically necessary quality behavioral healthcare in a cost‑effective setting in accordance with UM Clinical Guidelines and contract.
Refers cases to Peer Reviewers as appropriate.
Performs psychiatric and substance abuse assessment, coordination, implementation, case planning, monitoring, and evaluation to promote quality member outcomes, optimize member health benefits, and promote effective use of health benefits and community resources.
