This role performs imaging procedures under the direction of a radiologist using appropriate professional and technical skills to produce quality images for medical diagnosis or treatment. The trainee may assist the technologist but does not actually scan patients except under direct supervision.

Responsibilities
Operates C.T. scanners and any additional related medical equipment necessary to produce quality CT images for diagnosis or treatment safely and efficiently.
Uses technical skill to operate C.T. equipment and software, independently and efficiently without need for repeat studies due to technologist error, with no more than four variances per review period as observed by supervisor or radiologist.
Performs quality and compassionate patient care to ensure patient cooperation, safety, and satisfaction.
Identifies patient accurately and consistently uses connect point scripts according to departmental policy as observed by supervisor or other hospital staff.
Performs various record‑keeping, communication, and QA functions to ensure the section meets its goals and operates efficiently.
Relays pertinent information to radiologists or the review team to minimize errors due to lack of communication, especially during shift change, with no more than four complaints per quarter.
Participates in teaching, learning, and research opportunities to expand professional knowledge and assist in expanding the knowledge of others.
Is receptive to teaching C.T. technologists, student technologists, radiology residents, and fellows, as observed by the supervisor and from input provided by these students.
Qualifications EDUCATION: ARRT Certified and licensed by the state of Connecticut as a radiologic technologist. (Courses in cross‑section anatomy preferred.) Must pursue advanced ARRT certification in computed tomography. AS degree preferred, BS degree preferred.
Experience Minimum of one (1) year full‑time experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, or completion of advanced modality clinical training and demonstration of basic exam competency. Must demonstrate competency performing routine exams within six (6) months of commencement of the training program.
License RTR and Connecticut License required.
Special Skills Familiar with general PC applications and basic cross‑section anatomy. Must have demonstrated exceptional ability with radiographic imaging, customer service, and teamwork.
Physical Demand Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. to assist with patient transfers.
