Rental Outside Sales Representative

This individual will develop long-term partnerships with our customers to build win/win solutions within an assigned territory while promoting all aspects of Doggett Company, LLC. in a professional manner.
Essential Functions
Ability to develop a book of business with construction, industrial and oil and gas customers to rent construction equipment
Daily planning/scheduling and daily calls to various customer job sites and offices
Maintain budgeted metrics on rental revenue, utilization, new accounts, active accounts and pricing
Ability to perform needs analysis and develop plan to meet customers’ needs within parameters of the rental department
Ability to penetrate different market segments within a given geographic territory to maintain a diverse book of business
Use Company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related activity in a timely and accurate manner. Use of the system should contribute directly to the rental process
Develop a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends
Coordinate and/or conduct field demonstrations as well as operate machinery at customer work site
Work in conjunction with Sales Manager and Sales Support Group department, responsible for follow-up and expediting rentals
Accountable for timely follow up on each transaction to ensure customer satisfaction
Coordinate and/or communicate with customers and applicable departments to ensure timely delivery
Coordinate pickup and delivery of equipment as needed
Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of Doggett Company, LLC
Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts
Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner
Knowledge of company specific software
Qualifications
College degree in sales, marketing or business preferred or 3-4 years of related sales experience
Solid understanding of local market conditions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Daily consistent use of a professional CRM
Travel Requirements
On average 8–12 face to face sales calls per day
Ability to travel 15% of the time or as needed
