Job Description
A Brief Overview This position is responsible for setting up specialized anesthesia equipment assigned and not assigned to operating rooms and trouble‑shooting all anesthesia equipment even during patient use. Maintains departmental inventory of operating room/work room supplies and equipment. Support coverage of all Anesthetizing locations 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
What You Will Do
Troubleshoot and problem solve equipment problems that may arise during a case 10%
Check every OR in the morning, looking for opened supplies, expired IV bags, missing oxygen tanks 10%
Set up cell savers and rapid infusers upon request 10%
Perform daily liquid quality control tests 5%
Clean equipment after use and prep for next case 15%
Check expiration dates of emergency boxes and MH boxes 5%
Restock supplies in ORs and workroom on a daily basis 10%
Move and setup anesthesia machines for out of OR cases as needed 5%
Locate missing equipment and return to the proper location 5%
Answer calls from OR/ICU staff for emergency delivery of supplies and/or equipment to the proper areas 15%
Setup rooms for large cases such as cardiac, transplants, vascular, with the necessary equipment in advance by checking the schedule 10%
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.

Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of operating room environment helpful. (Required proficiency)
Knowledgeable of basic mechanical and electrical tools as well as remain knowledgeable of machines and monitors utilized in the operating room. (Required proficiency)
Knowledge of basic tool use, (Required proficiency)
Troubleshooting and problem solving, (Required proficiency)
Respectful and clear at communicating with everyone, (Required proficiency)
Comfortable with lifting 30 lb, walking most of the day, (Required proficiency)
Basic computer setup and use, (Required proficiency)
Ability to prioritize duties based on importance (Required proficiency)
