Responsibilities
Directly supervise the addiction severity index tester and other counselors.
Perform highly complex substance abuse counseling work within DWI programs and coordinate with other departments.
Plan, coordinate, and implement substance abuse counseling activities.
Maintain records and submit reports, including Individual Progress Summaries.
Supervise and instruct staff and promote positive social skills through behavior modeling.
Maintain accountability, adhere to safety practices, and ensure compliance with MTC and TDCJ directives.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Behavioral Science, or related field (accredited institution).
Four (4) years full‑time wage‑earning experience in substance abuse treatment.
Current licensure as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (TDSHS), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas.
CPR certification; valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable record.
Experience supervising employees and working in therapeutic community environments preferred.
