SUMMARY
Responsible for classroom instruction in the Project Management Certificate Program. Plan, develop, and use a variety of teaching methods and materials that assist students in meeting course objectives appropriate for students with differing education and work experiences and learning styles.
Location: Houston, Texas
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with the SCE requirements.
Maintain accurate records for each course taught.
Prepare, review, and update course outlines on a regular basis.
Recommend and assist with curriculum revisions as necessary.
Assist with student recruitment.
Attend instructor, departmental meetings and trainings as scheduled.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and others.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. The qualifications listed below are representative of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
Project Management Certificate (PMP) preferred.
EXPERIENCE
3 years of training and/or work experience required in the field of Project Management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Good knowledge, interest, and experience in the subject(s) to be taught.
Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language.
Able to continually learn as subject(s) changes.
Provide opportunities for students to make judgments based on appropriate criteria and critical thinking.
Incorporate a variety of teaching methodologies to engage students.
Combine an array of methods to enhance understanding, including demonstrations, lectures, group discussions, and activities.
Strong preparation and planning skills.
Select and use training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when introducing new information.
