The Child Center Residential Treatment Facility (RTF)
is a coeducational program in a warm, supportive environment that serves young people ages 12-18 who have had multiple psychiatric hospital placements or have been involved with the juvenile justice system. It is the only downstate RTF in the state that is a dual NYS Office of Mental Health/Office of Children and Family Services facility. We never consider it too late to give young people the help they need, and we are pleased to partner with these two agencies to ensure the young people in our care have the skills and support they need to achieve long-term success.
Reflecting The Child Center’s dedication to comprehensive care, the RTF is staffed by clinical coordinators, psychiatric providers, a pediatrician, and 24-hour nursing staff, 24-hour youth advocates. Support is individualized and tailored to the needs of the young people.
Summary The Director of Integrated Therapeutic Services is responsible for all aspects of clinical and milieu treatment within the RTF. Through leadership, guidance and support to middle management, the Director is responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of policies and structures that support multi-disciplinary collaboration and remove barriers to efficient service delivery for the various disciplines including therapists, transitional coordinators and milieu. The ultimate goal of the Director is to lead a program built on alignment and integration of clinical and milieu therapy.
The Director of Integrated Therapeutic Services have restricted access to all systems and data that contains client PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and PHI (Protected Health Information). The will not be able to report to the Brownsville Residential Treatment Facility until their background check has returned fully cleared.
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the vision, direction, coordination and oversight of mental health treatment, transitions of care, and therapeutic milieu operations
Serves as a key member of the collaborative leadership team
Responsible for ensuring best practice strategies and procedures that meet performance expectations/metrics, and embed trauma-informed care into and youth & family treatment, youth driven routines, and enhanced therapeutic elements of the milieu
Provides clinical and administrative supervision, including job performance evaluations of clinical and milieu leadership
Oversees the integrity, design and effectiveness of youth/family meetings as well as administrative meetings including, but not limited to, comprehensive treatment planning meetings, unit meetings, clinical meetings, discharge conferences and case conferences
Serves as a leadership liaison to residents' families
Works in collaboration with the Child/Adolescent Psychiatrist, create and implement clinical training standards with learning collaboratives and calendared plans, for all residential staff that serve as part of the treatment team Monitor and ensure compliance with accreditation, agency, local, state and federal regulations/laws
Actively Participates in quality improvement strategies, to enhance treatment, meet compliance standards, prevent crisis, reduce length of stay and improve overall outcomes for youth and families
Work collaboratively with medical, psychiatric and operational teams to integrate care and treatment throughout the facility
Creates and maintains collaborative relationships with critical partners, both within and external to TCCNY, to ensure continuity of care for youth and families
Other related duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Management and supervision of Clinical Supervisors and Unit Leaders
Oversee and participate in staff performance evaluations, staff hiring/termination, staff assignments, supervision, training and progressive disciplines for staff as well as addressing and resolving staff concerns/complaints.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws.
Prepare programs for audits, both planned and unannounced
Solid comprehension of Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 years’ experience working with emotionally disturbed adolescents
2+ years’ supervisory experience.
Qualifications Preferred:
LCSW-R
