Location: San Ramon, CA (In-person preferred; hybrid possible) Position Type: Part-time (Afternoons, evenings, and/or weekends)
Position Overview We are seeking an Instructor to teach the Reading & Writing sections of the Digital SAT. The ideal candidate is strong in grammar, reading comprehension, and instructional clarity, and enjoys working with high school students in a small-group setting.
Responsibilities
Teach SAT Reading & Writing classes (small group or 1-on-1)
Explain grammar rules, reading strategies, and question patterns clearly and efficiently
Help students build accuracy, speed, and confidence
Assign and review practice homework and diagnostic results
Track student progress and provide brief feedback to staff/parents when needed
Follow the center’s curriculum and pacing guidelines
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required (English, Education, Humanities, or related field preferred)
Strong command of SAT English content (Reading, Grammar, Writing)
Prior experience teaching SAT/ACT, AP English, or high school English strongly preferred
Familiarity with the Digital SAT format is a plus (training provided if needed)
Clear communicator, reliable, and professional
Comfortable teaching students from grades 8–11
Preferred (Not Required)
700+ SAT English score or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
Experience working in test prep centers or tutoring programs
Ability to commit for at least one academic year
Schedule & Compensation Flexible scheduling: weekday afternoons/evenings and/or weekends Competitive hourly pay, based on experience Opportunities for additional tutoring hours during peak seasons (summer, winter break)
