Monitor equipment for mechanical safety. Evaluate patient care and recommend improvements. Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material. Assist in keeping turnaround time down. Assist the physician in diagnostic procedures. Assist with transporting patients to and from their rooms when patient is an inpatient. Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation. Move x‑ray equipment to the specified position and adjust controls. Operate mobile x‑ray equipment in operating room, emergency room or at bedside. Position patient on the examination table and adjust immobilization devices for optimum views. Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure. Successfully complete competency test. Collaborate with physicians, physicists, nursing units, radiation oncology and other disciplines in patient‑care decisions. Qualifications
Basic Cardiac Life Support certification obtained within 30 days of employment. RT – Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer or ARRT‑R – Radiography. Certification obtained within 30 days of employment start date. Must practice AITET daily and complete competency test. EEO Statement
