Electric Meter Installer II – Cleveland, OH
This entry‑level Electric Meter Service Installer position is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Cleveland, Ohio. The installer will work under immediate supervision to install, remove, and service electric meters and switches, and perform related service duties. Responsibilities
Investigate customer complaints related to high consumption and faulty service entrance equipment. Change fuses, including 400‑amp de‑energized units, where required. Connect or disconnect service loops at the top of service entrance conduits using approved methods. Cutter, thread, bend, and install various sizes of conduit by hand or using a pipe threading machine. Assemble and wire single‑phase and three‑phase service pipes. Respond to trouble calls, report conditions, and guard fallen wires as necessary. Block and unblock delinquent accounts. Operate assigned vehicle and maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Report abnormal conditions by telephone or radio and complete correct meter reports. Direct and train employees as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or GED is required. Completed Cleveland Public Power’s Meter Apprenticeship Program or equivalent three years of electrical hands‑on experience. Valid Ohio Class B Commercial Driver’s License is required. Must be able to work on a ladder and lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds. Benefits
