Industrial Equipment Mechanic – Facilities Division Works as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic in the Facilities Division - Metal Shop.

Responsibilities

Maintain, test, and repair air compressors, including checking and replacing filters, pressure switches, belts, tanks, and safety valves.

Perform air compressor tank certifications.

Maintain fuel pumping stations, including changing filters, hoses, nozzles, and pumps.

Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on and repair overhead doors, door openers/closures by lubricating, adjusting chains, cables, and rollers; check operations and safety switches.

Repair and perform PM on security gates by checking oil, drive chains, sprockets, and rollers; check belts and pulleys; ensure motors and bearings operate properly.

Repair industrial kitchen appliances.

Install and maintain power transmission equipment such as drives and speed reducers.

Coordinate structural and load-bearing repairs with the structural engineer.

Repair, maintain, and align pumps and motors.

Diagnose malfunctioning equipment through testing or disassembly to determine causes and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications.

Utilize a variety of hand tools and make standard shop computations relating to stresses, strength, tools, equipment, and parts.

Perform other duties related to preventive maintenance and major repairs on machinery.

May be required to install or dismantle machines or heavy equipment.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work safely, wearing appropriate PPE, eye protection, earplugs, hard hat, vests, and gloves; follow Company safety policies.

Perform duties accurately, timely, and cost-effectively.

Work harmoniously with customers and co-workers.

Coordinate activities with Project Principals.

Perform work with minimal supervision in a safe and efficient manner.

Effectively coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

Work well under pressure.

Communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.

Contribute to successful completion of project initiatives.

Account for assigned tools, materials, equipment, and EESOH-MIS chemicals.

Maintain cleanliness and safety of shop and work areas.

Complete mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

Document daily work order log, including inspections, maintenance, and repair information, materials used, and hours worked on each assigned work order.

Climb extension and step ladders safely.

Operate different types of personnel lifts such as boom and scissor lifts safely.

Work overtime when required.

Qualifications

Possess three (3) years journeyman-level experience or have successfully completed a DOL-approved apprentice program for these trades.

Maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Obtain and maintain all necessary licenses, IDs, and certifications.

Maintain a favorable adjudication of a National Agency Check with inquires (NACI).

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Pass any required background checks and drug testing.

Lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
