Position Summary The Vice President of Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) leads CVS Health's enterprise-wide design and construction team, supporting strategy development and implementation, capital project planning, architecture and engineering, and project execution across both retail and enterprise facilities. The VP of PDC provides direct oversight of the Architectural Design and Engineering Design teams, the Capital Project Planning teams, and the Field Construction Management teams with multiple direct and indirect reports.

Responsibilities Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serve as the main point of contact to drive/manage/implement construction/property administration related initiatives from all departments within the organization that affect the existing facility base, utilizing a best-in-class project management approach

Aggressively seek out and partner with corporate sponsors and partners to build consensus, ensure alignment, drive smart decision making, and maintain prototype integrity

Drive budgeting in order to support a refined understanding of ROI for proposed initiatives as a tool to educate/inform sponsors of project feasibility prior to implementation

Drive optimal financial performance of all initiatives via effective capital management practices

Engage and collaborate with internal business partners to set direction, deliver results, build high performing teams, and develop talent

Create cost-effective design solutions through research, innovative design, creation of design standards, and management of approved specifications.

Candidate will be required to present strategic plans to all Division Presidents and present to ELT and RLT level.

Lead the design, development, and construction of project and program management for all new and existing business initiatives in the retail and enterprise business units

Establish and guide process improvements to drive overall project execution performance - including identifying and achieving cost efficiencies, streamlining time-to-market, and maximizing client satisfaction

Ensure effective communication with key business sponsors and team members to establish and strengthen working partnerships required for successful project development and execution, budget adherence, and ROI.

Facilitate team development and growth, ensuring strong, high-performing teams.

Required Qualifications

At least ten years of national program, multi-unit construction experience required.

At least ten years of experience directing a team of construction professionals to include: demonstrated people management and leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, develop, delegate, and make effective business decisions

Solid understanding of retail and health care real estate practices and principles

Working knowledge of the various disciplines involved in the store development process - from market analysis to store opening.

Working knowledge of the various attributes of health care facilities, regulatory requirements, industry standards of experience

Highly effective communication skills

Partners across boundaries, develop open and trusted relationships

Ability to build productive relationships at all levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and other external partners

Proficient in Microsoft 365 and internal program platforms

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree

Education Bachelor's Degree in related Architecture, Engineering or Construction field.
