Auto Mechanic The Auto Mechanic must diagnose mechanical failures and perform necessary repairs on motorized equipment such as cranes, forklifts, tractors, tractor components, trucks, and other vehicles. Responsibilities include:
Work on vehicles, forklifts, tractors, cranes, etc.
Service gas and diesel engines.
Inspect and diagnose vehicles to determine repair scope and cost.
Test, repair, or replace mechanical units such as water pumps, fuel pumps, governors, distributors, carburetor systems, brakes, clutches, and other devices.
Remove transmissions and engines for outside service repair.
Install new or repaired units back into vehicles.
Perform minor tune‑ups to ensure efficient and safe vehicle operation.
Wear personnel protective equipment, including rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied‑air and air‑purifying respirators, safety harnesses, sand‑blast hoods, fire‑resistant coveralls, hard hats, ear plugs, and safety glasses.
Maintain full range of mobility in upper and lower body, reach overhead, work in various positions (stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, squatting), handle tools and controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, work at heights, and balance for extended periods.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands This role requires regularly sitting, using hands to handle, feel, and reach, standing, walking, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, speaking, hearing, tasting or smelling, and frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
Qualifications Required For This Position Education : no minimum education requirements.
Experience : 3–5 years of experience in an industrial setting preferred.
