Overview To provide efficient adjustment, processing, and settlement of casualty claims consistent with established adjusting procedures while delivering a WOW! customer experience and controlling loss and adjustment expenses.
Responsibilities
Investigate and interpret policy as it pertains to the loss.
Evaluate liability and negotiate settlement or declination.
Defend Farm Bureau insureds according to Farm Bureau insurance contracts.
Accomplish functions under general supervision with emphasis on customer service and controlling loss and adjustment expenses.
Evaluate insurance coverage based on loss notice, insurance policies, applicable statutes and case law to determine whether coverage is afforded.
Obtain all necessary documentation to determine liability and damages of alleged bodily injury or property damage through a thorough investigation focusing on key issues.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum one to three years of experience required.
Keyboarding skills of 40 wpm required.
Outstanding listening and customer service skills.
Knowledge of computers and various software, including Microsoft Office products, required.
Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record.
Designation in AIC, INS, CPCU, SCLA, or similar insurance designation preferred, or actively being pursued.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with focus on agricultural‑related studies, business administration or insurance‑related field.
