Location & Shift Brownsville, TX – 1st Shift
Responsibilities
Continuously perform all required tasks in a safe manner, adhering to established safety rules and procedures.
Check bags for quality defects off the machine, perform all quality checks and paperwork as per the Quality Policy.
Follow all quality policies and procedures, complying with good manufacturing practices.
Comply with all safety practices and guidelines, including PPE requirements.
Safely and efficiently:
Change roll, splice by hand, maneuver roll into position, adhere roll to web on machine, and adjust paper rolls.
Start, stop, and monitor bag machinery, ensuring it runs at the budgeted machine speed.
Thread paper through the machine smoothly as required.
Package bags as specified.
Ensure correct quantities of bags are being placed on the press.
Report machine adjustments and repairs required to Machine tender, Adjuster, or Supervisor.
Submit accurate production reports daily and on time.
Meet or achieve safety, quality, production waste, and housekeeping goals set by management.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
Strong decision‑making skills with limited supervision.
Basic mechanical skills.
Capacity to stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive motions.
Basic troubleshooting abilities.
Strong vision (close, distance, peripheral, color, depth perception) and the ability to adjust focus.
