2nd Shift Machinist
Schaffer Manufacturing is looking for a 2nd shift Machinist to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC machines, manual mills, drills & lathes, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records, and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Position Responsibilities
Operate machines (power up/down, hand-wheel functions).
Tooling: Setup, wear analysis and stock handling.
Setup: Fixture plate, magnetic base, vice tools, edge finding and axial indicating.
Organize work area each day.
Inspection: perform in-process inspection using equipment such as micrometer, caliper, telescoping gauge, dial indicator, axial indicator, and Fabravision.
Programming: edit G-code programs, create modal/non-modal, sub-programs, loops, delays.
Troubleshooting: spindle orientation, error handling, tool change interruption fix.
Maintenance: coolant, chip conveyor, spindle oil, way oil and filters.
Work at different workstations as production needs require.
Accurate Log In and Log Out from jobs and operations.
All other duties assigned.
