A Day in the Life: What You Will Do As a DSP, you are the heart of our mission: empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). You will gain direct, hands‑on experience in high‑value skills that will set you apart in your field:
Patient Care & Support:
Provide respectful, hands‑on assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal care, grooming, and mobility.
Healthcare Skills:
Gain experience in
medication administration , monitoring physical and mental health needs, and preparing nutritious meals.
Case Management & Advocacy:
Serve as a patient advocate and participate in the development and implementation of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs).
Clinical Documentation:
Complete all necessary documentation of care, service provision, and medication logs—a critical skill in all healthcare fields.
Behavioral Support:
Learn to implement positive behavior supports, follow person‑centered support plans, and use de‑escalation strategies.
What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications) We believe in hiring for heart and training for skill.
What We Require (The Must-Haves):
A compassionate, patient, and encouraging attitude
A strong desire to learn and gain hands‑on healthcare experience
18 years old or older
A High School Diploma or GED
A valid driver's license, reliable transportation/vehicle, and valid auto insurance
Ability to pass a background check

Students & Pre-Professionals:
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Pre-Med, child education, or a related human services field.
Natural Caregivers:
Have you been an unpaid family caregiver for a loved one? We recognize your skills are valuable and will train you.
Experienced Professionals:
Experience as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a major plus.
