Your role as a Supervisor, Ballpark Security – 2nd Shift: You will be primarily responsible for supervising and directing an assigned shift while developing, growing, and leading reporting security officers. You will provide a safe and secure experience for all who come to Petco Park while upholding the organizational core values to the highest degree possible.

Oversee Daily Security Operations
Supervise 24/7 security staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage utilizing ABI MasterMind
Conduct daily shift briefings to ensure that assigned officers are prepared for their shift and receive all necessary training and information
Monitor Avigilon surveillance systems and coordinate incident responses
Ensuring security officers are trained to utilize Raven Controls Incident Management Software for all department logs, reports, equipment inventory, preventative maintenance and shift pass on reports are accurately maintained
Maintain accurate incident logs, investigation reports, and security audits
Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders
Supervise and lead escalated issues with patrons, VIPs, and staff professionally
Promote a safe and welcoming environment for all facility users
Assist in the development and enforcement of Security Protocols
Ensure compliance with organizational standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations including those outlined by the California Bureau of Security & Investigative Services (BSIS)
Event Security Planning and Execution
Attend necessary meetings to obtain event operations and disseminate to department staff
Coordinate Ballpark Security support of Elite Security for Padres games, concerts, and other large gatherings
Liaise with law enforcement, emergency services, and event organizers
Personnel Management
Assist in the recruitment, training, and supervision of security staff and contractors including Allied Enhanced Protection Explosive Detection Canines
Conduct and participate in ongoing professional development
Manage time off requests and payroll submissions including all meal breaks
Emergency Preparedness and Response
Work with the Manager, Ballpark Security and Director, Security & Transportation to implement emergency action plans for fire, medical, and active threat scenarios
Assist in the development of regular drills and post-incident evaluations
Access Control and Perimeter Security
Oversee badge systems, entry checkpoints, and credentialing procedures
Ensure physical barriers and alarm systems are functioning properly
Risk Assessment and Threat Analysis
Identify vulnerabilities and recommend mitigation strategies
Stay informed on emerging threats and adjust protocols accordingly
Technology Integration and Maintenance
Work with IT to ensure cybersecurity measures for security systems
Oversee the upkeep of cameras, alarms, and communication tools
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most:
Experience in supervising on-site security teams and command center operations
Familiarity with the Incident Command System (ICS) and emergency protocols
Familiarity with Avigilon systems including CCTV, key card access, metal detectors, and radio communications
Experience with security management software and digital log/reporting tools
Ability to lead evacuations and coordinate with first responders during crises
Strong leadership and team-building abilities in a 24/7 operational environment
Knowledge of training programs, certification requirements, and use-of-force policies
Experience supervising performance, discipline, and morale in high-stress settings
Must have a general ability in technology and a variety of different types of applications
Possess a high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Proven ability to multi-task, attention to detail and manage projects on strict deadlines
Strong ability and willingness to work with others in a collaborative, team environment
Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
You will be required to meet the following:
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience, or higher
Must have a valid BSIS Guard Card
Must have a valid current driver's license with a good driving record (subject to review)
Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, however this position will primarily be working 1:00 PM until 9:30 PM during a five day work week. This includes the ability to be flexible to support baseball games, post-baseball games, non-baseball events, and traditional office hours, whichever is needed at any given time to meet operational requirements
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new programs, systems, and/or processes
General knowledge of office skills, use of office equipment (copier, laser printers, fax machine, telephones, computers)
Must possess effective written and oral communication and social skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the public in a professional and effective manner; must be able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines
Excellent written and verbal skills with proven ability to correctly use punctuation and grammar
Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish a plus
Possess high degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
Professional image and demeanor
Able to travel as needed
Minimum physical requirements: able to travel to and gain access to various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods of time during games and events; able to ascend and descend stairs; able to lift and transport up to 50 pounds; able to ride a bicycle for prolonged periods of time.

Pay and additional compensation: Per the California pay transparency law, the base pay range for this full-time position is $25.38. As a candidate for this position, your pay and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
