Job Description Dircks Moving & Logistics is seeking a CDL Driver who plays a crucial role in transporting goods and performing various labor‑related tasks associated with moving and logistics operations. Their ability to safely and efficiently move goods from one location to another is essential for the success of the businesses they work for and for customer satisfaction.
What You Will Be Doing
Driving Commercial Vehicles: Qualify to operate a wide range of commercial vehicles, including tractor‑trailers and semi‑trucks.
Adherence to safety regulations and careful operation of the vehicles.
Loading and Unloading: Use equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or hand trucks; perform pad wrapping, strapping, and securing items.
Weight distribution, compact load formation, and efficient space utilization.
Transporting Goods: Long‑haul, regional, or local deliveries, depending on company needs.
Route Planning: Plan routes to ensure timely deliveries while optimizing fuel consumption.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance, pre‑trip inspections, and mechanical checks.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of deliveries, BOLs, weight tickets, logs, and incidents.
Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor with clients during deliveries or pickups.
Compliance: Adhere to all federal and state regulations, including hours‑of‑service, weight limits, and safety standards; obtain necessary endorsements for hazardous materials if required.
Safety: Follow company safety programs and obey all relevant laws.
Teamwork: Work with other movers or logistics personnel and communicate effectively with colleagues.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
Hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License and maintain a passing DOT physical.
Maintain a clean MVR per Dircks insurance carrier guidelines.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Write simple correspondence.
Present information effectively to customers, clients, and employees.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Apply common sense understanding to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Possess knowledge of Microsoft Word and Cisco phone systems.
Physical Demands Required tasks include standing, walking, moving or handling items, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, and hearing. Regular lifting up to 50 pounds, frequently up to 100 pounds, and occasionally more than 100 pounds is required. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
