The Aseptic Filler Operator is responsible for completing assigned production duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The role involves cleaning and operating Tetra Pak’s aseptic primary packaging equipment to maintain optimal performance and ensuring that all GMP, SOP, HACCP, and Food Safety requirements are satisfied at all times. The operator supports the manufacture of dairy and non‑dairy products by performing tasks that are critical to quality and safety.

Job Responsibilities

Set up, clean, sterilize, operate, and monitor aseptic filling equipment using standard operating procedures.

Set up, shut down, and clean ancillary equipment such as Domino printer and check weigh systems.

Operate and monitor equipment while completing all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.

Ensure machine is supplied with sufficient raw materials to complete daily production orders and properly scan finished good inventory.

Load reels of packaging material into machine using heavy lift equipment, ensuring correct materials for each product.

Monitor systems using human machine interface (HMI) screens and react to all status displays and alarms.

Perform intricate system checks on filler and its subsystems, log results, and make adjustments as necessary.

Conduct packaging integrity tests, taking corrective action for out‑of‑specification materials.

Monitor and maintain supply of hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂) to filling equipment to ensure sterility.

Track and document equipment downtime using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) log.

Complete cleaning checklist after production orders and prepare equipment for the next run.

Maintain sanitation and cleanliness of the immediate area, using personal protective equipment when handling chemicals.

Perform basic troubleshooting using equipment manuals, in‑house resources, and online resources.

Multi‑task, prioritize, and manage work without extensive supervision.

Communicate with production supervisor and processing department to resolve daily production problems.

Escalate and communicate to management any known issues that may adversely affect production, quality, or safety.

Use Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO) procedures when required and appropriate.

Adhere to 5S standards in the work area.

Promote continuous improvement and complete daily tasks as assigned by management.

Provide excellent internal and external customer service while maintaining a safe and harmonious work environment.

Maintain compliance with S.Q.F. certification.

Other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills

Apply mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to job tasks.

Read, write, and communicate in English to perform job functions.

Education / Experience

Minimum of GED or High School Diploma preferred.

At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.

Attend a company‑organized Better Process Control School (BPCS) and receive a BPCS certificate.

Report equipment or safety concerns immediately to leadership.

Complete all paperwork before shift change and communicate to oncoming operator.

Work Schedule

Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift.

Requests to be scheduled off for a specific day must be approved in advance by Manager.

Hourly: Generally scheduled for 36‑48 hours (12‑hour shifts); additional hours may be required based on business needs.

Environmental Concerns

Protected from weather and temperature changes; possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.

May be exposed to ingredients used in food product manufacturing, including allergens.

May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacture and sanitation of a food processing facility.

Physical Job Requirements

Move throughout all facility areas, including office, production, and warehouse environments and building perimeter.

Wear all necessary personal protective equipment to perform job functions.

Stand and/or sit continuously, performing job functions for a full shift with meal break.

Lift, push, pull, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and handle objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.

Maintain corrected visual acuity required for job functions.

Work Location East Syracuse, NY

Wage Range The wage range for this role is $24.50 to $34.00 per hour, based on skill level, experience, certifications, and other business factors.

Qualifications – Education Preferred: High School diploma or GED in a general or related field.
