Job Overview
Maintenance Tech II: skilled maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities components and systems, including conveyor systems and other material handling equipment. May interact, inspect, and oversee contractors’ work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs reactive repairs and preventative maintenance on all equipment as designated.
Cuts, welds, and fabricates.
Reads and interprets technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
Safely operates all equipment associated with manufacturing and demolition of conveyor systems, including fabrication/welding, conduit and wiring installation and demolition.
Troubleshoots, repairs, and constructs mechanical and electrical systems including compressors, air lines, diverters, cylinders, switches, VFDs, control devices, and systems.
Troubleshoots, repairs and installs electrical components with voltages from 12 V DC to 480 V AC.
Develops work plan for emergency repair of critical assets, including coordinating with operations, locating parts/tools, scheduling time.
Demonstrates proficiency with CMMS.
Acts as liaison between LGSTX Services and contractors on maintenance, modifications, and operations of equipment.
Available for flexible schedules, including all shifts, weekends, holidays; overtime as required.
Maintains professional attitude at all times.
Informs supervisors and operations immediately of potential delays.
Demonstrates flexibility with scheduling and tasks.
Works with other departments, companies or personnel as required.
Maintains all required paperwork, work orders, electronic records and reports accurately and timely.
Ensures all equipment kept in highest state of repair and appearance.
Mentors less experienced MHE mechanics.
Follows all LGSTX and/or customer operating procedures.
Is safety conscious and ensures compliance with company policies, federal, state and local regulations.
Education and Experience Must read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Minimum 5 years (10 years preferred) verifiable prior work experience as a maintenance technician or mechanic. Self‑motivated, able to work without direct supervision or as part of a team. Two to four years of formal approved technical training, apprenticeship or schooling in industrial or commercial maintenance preferred.
Computer Skills Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn company software programs; basic knowledge of using a smartphone.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations A current valid driver’s license.
Hazards and Work Environment Employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places; risk of electrical shock and vibration. Noise level moderate to high.
