Shipping Clerk
Location: Fairland, IN
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 per hour
Job Summary The Shipping Clerk supports warehouse operations by assisting the Warehouse Manager or Supervisor while serving as a key point of contact for customers, drivers, and warehouse staff. This role combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on warehouse support in a refrigerated facility.
Key Responsibilities
Provide customer service via phone and email
Coordinate with customers, drivers, and warehouse personnel
Maintain accurate shipping records and documentation
Verify product counts and complete load paperwork
Update Warehouse Management and Yard Management systems
Answer phones and perform basic clerical duties
Operate a sit-down forklift as needed
Follow all safety, food safety (if applicable), and company procedures
Requirements
Shipping/Receiving Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Sit-down forklift experience required
Ability to obtain in-house forklift certification
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks
Basic computer and data entry skills; Excel experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
Working Conditions Refrigerated warehouse environment with very cold temperatures
