Service Clerk - 401 Hayward
Smart & Final in Hayward, California is hiring a Service Clerk to support our customer experience. The role starts at $18.25 per hour.
Responsibilities
Maintain and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
Assist customers with loading merchandise into shopping carts and provide vehicle assistance as requested.
Check retail prices on shelf for check stand personnel and pull merchandise from check stand (“go backs”) to return to the proper shelf.
Walk aisles and return any misplaced items to their proper location; face merchandise on aisles as needed.
Monitor store cleanliness: sweep front area inside and outside, pick up trash, mop walkways, and clean entrance/exit doors daily. Restock restrooms as needed.
Assist customers with purchase and assist with assistance to their cars as requested.
Qualifications
Read and write English; interact with general public and co-workers.
Read simple instructions and product labels; write simple correspondence.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Basic PC/Outlook skills (preferred); Retail Management Certificate (preferred).
