Job Overview
We are looking for a part‑time associate to help create an outstanding customer experience in our pharmacy/department. This role focuses on exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supporting our department manager in achieving sales, profit, and quality goals.
Location: Portland, Oregon.
Base Pay Range $19.38/hr – $23.11/hr
Responsibilities
Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals for the department.
Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
Price, label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
Review "sell by" dates and take appropriate action.
Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate manager of items in need of repair.
Notify management of any accidents or safety risks.
Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
Inform customers of promotions and specials.
Recommend items to customers to meet their needs.
Display a positive attitude and stay current with ads.
Communicate effectively and manage stressful situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Effective communication skills.
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
Must be able to perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Desired Qualifications
Retail experience.
Second language speaking, reading and/or writing.
Promote trust and respect among associates.
Knowledge of products sold within the department and ability to answer customer questions.
Ability to offer product samples and recommend items.
Ability to stay current with promotions.
Experience in safety compliance and incident reporting.
