Community Service Coordinator
The Cesar Chavez Foundation is a non-profit organization that serves low-income families in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas through affordable housing and social service programs.
Under the direction of the Regional Program Coordinator, the Community Service Coordinator oversees the operations of the Si Se Puede Community Center programs and related activities. This position involves judgment, supervisory ability, and skills in resident/community planning. The role requires implementing and supervising programs, classes and activities for effectiveness, supervising residents, volunteers, and student interns, and outreach to the community and partnership establishment.
Responsibilities
Maintain all ethical practices of the Cesar Chavez Foundation by serving the community with character, integrity, dignity, and a high degree of professionalism.
Manage all Si Se Puede Community Center Programs, which consist of an Afterschool Program, Resident Social Services, Meal Distribution, Health and Wellness, and Community Outreach.
Foster a friendly, welcoming environment for members and visitors.
Maintain record keeping and document retention systems and compile comprehensive reports.
Requirements
Preferred: At least 48 units of college credit from a two‑year accredited college or related experience in Education/Youth Development/Community Services.
Preferably bilingual.
Knowledge of MS Office (Word/Excel/Access) required.
Able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Live scan Fingerprint/background check.
Must provide proof of a negative TB test result taken within the last 2 years.
A valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record for the past three years.
The position requires commuting between sites.
Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified (or obtain within 30 days) and maintain those certifications.
Ability to lift and carry heavy objects as required for transportation, set up, and conducting activities.
The ability to create partnerships to ensure all site/programming requirements are being met.
Essential Worker Position (This is not a work from home position).
