Recreation Facility Coordinator-Wilderness Station
Position purpose: plan, implement, coordinate, and monitor daily operations, programs, activities, and special events within the Recreation Department facilities.
Essential Functions
Communicate with others in spoken and written English to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Supervise daily operation of the facility, providing expertise specific to programming and function.
Supervise staff, determine staffing needs, create schedules and assignments, and monitor performance.
Interact with patrons to provide a positive customer experience and accurate information regarding activities and services.
Deliver specialty services and lead the success of the program as a whole.
Monitor assigned facility and participants, check for safety, maintenance, and program needs, and take action to maintain operations.
Observe and enforce rules and procedures of the assigned area for the safety and welfare of staff and participants.
Operate a computer with facility management software; process registrations, admissions, balance the cash drawer, prepare bank deposits, collect funds, issue receipts, and record transactions.
Assist and advise in budget preparations; order supplies and equipment; maintain accurate records, reports, inventories, and schedules.
Render aid as needed, including administering CPR and using an AED device; respond to emergency calls.
Safely operate a motor vehicle to pick up supplies, make bank deposits, or perform similar tasks.
Work a flexible work schedule, with some weekend, evening, and holiday work required.
Perform other work as assigned.
Physical Demands
Walk or stand most of the time, climb stairs.
Exert up to 40 pounds of force regularly.
Typical Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Minimum of 2 years experience in facility programming, recreation management, or closely related field.
Special Certifications And Licenses
Valid driver's license.
Current CPR/AED certifications or obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
