Summary

Our growing, mid‑sized pharmaceutical client has engaged GForce Life Sciences to provide a Strategic Sourcing Manager to manage commercial strategic sourcing and procurement services operations. This consultant is responsible for the sourcing process for various categories such as Media Planning & Buying, Marketing Agencies, Trade Shows, Market Research, Patient Support, and Promotions. The role requires collaboration with business owners and functional sourcing teams to optimize value in purchasing goods and services. The position also involves developing and executing sourcing strategies and category management practices, providing insights into policies, processes, and systems related to strategic sourcing, and partnering with financial teams to identify cost optimization opportunities.

Responsibilities

Manage relationships with key vendors to enable continuous improvements and innovation.

Oversee category management and strategic sourcing policies, processes, and systems.

Ensure compliance with sourcing policies and processes and report any deviations.

Identify continuous improvement opportunities based on industry trends and new technology

Drive significant sourcing activities, including contract negotiations

Execute strategic sourcing vision and strategy in alignment with business needs.

Develop strategic objectives and establish success measurements (KPIs).

Maintain sourcing policies and processes to achieve strategic sourcing vision.

Ensure best practices in sourcing, including spend analysis and contract management.

Oversee daily sourcing project activities and develop operational metrics for process improvement.

Partner with business owners and financial operations to meet organizational needs.

Mandatory Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant technical expertise. Advanced degree preferred.

10+ Years of Commercial Category Management experience.

Minimum 5-7 yrs commercial sourcing experience with a specialization in one or two categories, as well as previous pharma experience or similar highly regulated environment.

Robust knowledge of sourcing strategies within pharmaceutical commercial categories –

Experience in strategic sourcing or procurement roles, with expertise in commercial pharmaceutical procurement.

Strong communication skills and ability to influence at senior levels.

Strategic thinking and familiarity with emerging procurement technologies.

Experience in leading large, complex sourcing projects and supporting senior leadership.

Term & Start

6-month contract (opportunity to convert to perm if local)

Start ASAP

Full-time, 40 hours/week

Local to Princeton, NJ preferred. Open to 100% remote as well.
