General Purpose This role is responsible for supporting the Ross Domestic Transportation network by executing bids, contracting, managing the linehaul carrier base and aiding the execution of freight shipments from vendors to distribution centers and from distribution centers to store delivery points. It is a cross‑functional role capable of executing all Domestic Transportation Procurement functions and modes.
Essential Functions Carrier Management
Coordinate Business Reviews with carriers including key internal business partners & stakeholders. Own master CBR schedule, maintain meeting calendars and communicate plans to Procurement & Operations leadership.
Manage and administer Transportation Procurement metrics including running KPI reports, scrubbing TMS data and distributing results internally and externally appropriate.
Foster professional and ethical business relationships driven by fair, logical and objective activities for all providers and transportation vendors.
Vet new carriers for inclusion in the Ross linehaul freight network, exploring contract, service capabilities and network synergies.
Execution
Secure spot pricing & capacity for unplanned surges on inbound or outbound freight.
Obtain & communicate approvals for spot pricing, including LTL refrigerated.
Track & report incremental cost for inbound freight diversions as needed.
Conduct freight RFP/Bid work, including material construction, data analysis, carrier communications & scheduling.
Work with freight carriers to support equipment pool builds and maintenance.
Support Freight Pay in researching and resolving invoice discrepancies as needed.
Own special projects aimed at hardening procurement processes, managing costs including budget targets, enhancing network service experience, etc.
Administrative
Rating & routing guide administration for inbound and outbound linehaul networks.
Manage dedicated network tracking, including data logs on weekly activity statements.
Model cost impact summaries for service solutions and network changes.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
Four‑year Bachelor's Degree.
Minimum five (5) years experience in Supply Chain and three (3) years in Transportation, with domestic experience preferred.
Experience in vendor and carrier management/development preferred.
Experience with transportation contracts & contracting preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational & negotiation skills required.
Competency with core MS applications including Word, Excel & PowerPoint required.
Strong written and oral communication skills to engage with all levels and departments inside and outside the company.
Self‑motivated with an ability to work independently to complete projects.
Adaptability to work cross‑functionally with different modes including inbound, outbound, truckload, intermodal and others.
Physical Requirements / ADA • No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting; nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variable work volume seasonally and predictably; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; travel or other inconveniences have advance notice; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting, handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Travel required – up to 10%
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
• This role requires regular in‑office presence, including in‑person team interaction, meetings and collaboration, client support, mentoring, coaching, and/or feedback. However, this role can perform duties effectively using a combination of in‑office and remote work.
