Development and Fundraising Manager - Maryland or Virginia The Development and Fundraising Manager will lead development and fundraising initiatives within an assigned region. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with exceptional communication skills, a strong network of media and community contacts and a proven track record in executing successful PR and fundraising campaigns. Reporting to the Regional Executive Director they will play a critical role in advancing MADD’s mission, brand awareness and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. This position oversees Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia and Washington DC.

This is a remote position in which the selected candidate must reside in the state of Maryland or Virginia. The salary for this position is $75,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and cultivate relationships with donors, corporate partners, and foundations to secure financial support.

Promote MADD’s events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns through various media channels and community outreach efforts.

Conduct prospect research to identify major donors and funding opportunities aligned with MADD's priorities.

Plan and execute fundraising events, donor cultivation events, and initiatives to expand the donor base in conjunction with the Area and/or State/Regional Executive Director.

Collaborate with the Executive Director to create a fundraising roadmap and meet fundraising goals.

Prepare grant proposals and applications for corporate sponsorships, grants, and other funding opportunities with the approval of the State/Regional Executive Director.

Represent MADD Mission Operations at donor meetings, networking events, and public speaking engagements.

Develop and nurture relationships with community leaders, potential donors, and key stakeholders to expand MADD's presence.

Create and implement comprehensive PR strategies to increase awareness of MADD's initiatives, campaigns, and events.

Collaborate with regional teams to align PR plans with goals, utilizing media outreach, events, social media, and stakeholder engagement.

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers.

Proactively pitch stories, press releases, and op-eds to secure media coverage highlighting MADD's efforts.

Act as a spokesperson for MADD in both English and Spanish, handling media inquiries and interviews at the direction of the Area and/or State/Regional Executive Director.

Manage the local social media channels, ensuring consistent and engaging content in English and Spanish.

Stay updated on social media trends and implement strategies to enhance MADD's online presence and community engagement.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in marketing, PR, community engagement, and fundraising.

Proven experience in media relations, including pitching and securing media coverage.

Proven track record in development, partner cultivation, and public relations.

Proficiency in managing social media platforms and digital content creation.

Experience in planning and executing fundraising events and campaigns.

Excellent networking and relationship-building skills.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in English and Spanish.

Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of work, ensuring accuracy and quality in documents, reports, and communications.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset to address challenges and propose solutions.

A collaborative and adaptable team player who can work effectively within a diverse team and contribute positively to team dynamics.

Self-starter with a willingness to take ownership of tasks and projects, demonstrating a proactive approach to responsibilities.
