We have an opportunity to join a growing CRE and C&I team here in the Cities!
The Senior Credit Analyst plays a critical role in supporting the bank's lending operations by conducting comprehensive financial evaluations of individuals and businesses seeking credit. This position focuses on larger, more complex lending transactions requiring advanced analytical expertise and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and evaluate loan applications for complex transactions, including review of financial statements, appraisals, title insurance, and supporting documentation
Collaborate with lenders throughout the loan closing process to ensure seamless execution
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior Credit Analysts, fostering professional development
Identify and analyze historical trends in business performance and market conditions
Develop detailed spreadsheets, financial reports, and strategic recommendations on loan structure and pricing
Conduct on-site property inspections to verify accuracy and condition
Assess and assign risk ratings to support informed lending decisions
Prepare comprehensive annual reviews of existing loan portfolios
Create detailed credit presentations for the approval process, incorporating cash flow analysis, performance forecasting, industry trend evaluation, and loan performance history
Maintain accurate and organized records for all lending clients and accounts
Support department managers with special projects focused on risk management within the lending function
Stay current on lending software systems, regulatory compliance requirements, and departmental procedures
Partner with lenders to build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and timely resolution of inquiries
Ensure full compliance with bank policies, procedures, security protocols, and government regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience in Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and/or Commercial Real Estate lending
Exceptional analytical and critical reasoning abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Work Environment Professional office setting
